E        F#          D#m
  We pray for peace
E        F#           G#m            F#                            E
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
E         F#           G#m
   We pray for healing
E               F#   D#m
  For prosperity
E                                F#                      G#m                  F#
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering

 B             E                F#                         G#m
All the while, You hear each spoken need
.       C#m                      B                          F#
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things

[Chorus 1]
.                            B
What if your blessings come through raindrops
 .                        F#
What if Your healing comes through tears
 .                      G#m                          F#                             E
What if the thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
C#m            B                   E                      C#m             B           F#  E  F#  D#m

[Verse 2]
E        F#           G#m
  We pray for wisdom
E           F#         D#m
  Your voice to hear
E                  F#                          G#m                     F#    E
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
E         F#                 G#m
   We doubt your goodness
E         F#                D#m
   We doubt your love
E                     F#                              G#m                F#
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough

 .       B             E                 F#                              G#m
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
         C#m                             B                F#
And long that we’d have faith to believe

[Chorus 2]
.                            B
What if your blessings come through raindrops
 .                         F#
What if Your healing comes through tears
 .                       G#m                        F#                             E
What if the thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
C#m             B                  E                       C#m                 B   F#   E  F#  D#m
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

[Bridge]
E                                F#
   When friends betray us

When darkness seems to win we know
E                       F#                                  C#m
The pain reminds this heart That this is not
F#        C#m        B F# E F# D#m
This is not our home
      B               F# G#m E F#
It’s not our home

  1. I live this song and am glad you did a tutorial that i will listen to later. It is very relatable. I had a mot so so good marriage but with some good parts. I would cry out to God that I couldn’t do it and he would answer that i am his child and with him i could. Especially towards the end of his battle with cancer when it was his strength that got me through
that week he was in hospice and i had to clean the massive sores on his skin. We may
Not think he is responding but i have learned that in the hard time when we think we cant get through or deal with it, with his strength we can. This song reminds me of that and that and that his response comes in the most unexpected ways. Our trials are what bring is closer to God. I love that this is keyboard song and loom forward to going thru the tutorial one evening after work. Thank you. .

  2. I don’t understand why this song is controversial. We all go through tears and sleepless nights. Although I hope never again to go through some of the trials that I’ve been through I’ve learned that they can make us able to stand against the winds just as the house built on the rock stood against the storms without falling.

  3. Hi Nina,
This is a beautiful song with a very real meaning. God’s mercies do come in disguise and healing does come through tears. God’s ways are so much greater than we could ever understand. Thank you for doing this tutorial.

  4. Bravo! Nina. You’re amazing. How I wish to play like you. Yeah. This is
my dream to play and accompany a song in the calibre like you. Thank you for posting. I don’t know why this is a controbersial song.
What I know, this is a beautiful song. The melody is pleasing to the ear.

  5. Hey Nina
It’s a wonderful arrangement. Although at times, it gets over-complicated; it could stand alone as an instrumental, without words.
